About Ali

Bachelor of Landscape Architecture
University of Guelph, 2007
I grew up on a beautiful farm in rural Central Ontario and as an adolescent I always found myself working in gardens. I chose to study Landscape Architecture because I felt that it brought together the perfect balance of art and science.
After working in Landscape Architecture offices in both Toronto and Vancouver I decided to head south. Working in Nicaragua since 2010 as the Landscape Manager for Rancho Santana through 2019, as well as an independent consultant, I have built a portfolio of both residential and hospitality projects throughout Nicaragua and parts of the United States.
I use plants to paint pictures, putting each one in their place and waiting for nature to color outside the lines. I love designing living spaces, working hand-in-hand with the dimension of time. Life is infused into the landscape as it forms the backdrop for our interactions, our celebrations, our lives.
